The Australian water dragon (Intellagama lesueurii, formerly Physignathus lesueurii), which includes the eastern waterdrops (I. l. Lesueurii) and the Gippsland waterdrops (I. l. Howittii) subspecies, is a tree inhabitant agamid native species to eastern Australia from Vicoria to the north In Queensland. There may be a small introduced population on the south-east coast of South Australia.
